The Pastor Nominating Committee has been meeting regularly over the past 2 months, working through the new Presbyterian process of hiring a new minister.
Step #1 was completing the Ministry Discernment Profile (MDP), which the committee has done and posted a copy to the church’s website for our members to read. Once we had the completed MDP, the committee began working on getting the job opening posted to the Church Leadership Connection website (CNC). With Eddie’s prior knowledge and guidance, the committee posted our open Minister/Head of Staff position earlier this week. Within minutes, the CLC had matched our congregational preferences with 11 potential candidates. The committee felt it best to offer invitations to apply for our position to each of the 11 matches. Several of these matches have already applied, so the committee felt it best to give these potential candidates 2 weeks to see if others may apply before setting up Zoom interviews with the applicants.
The committee also understands the importance of personal connections/contacts in finding our future minister. So if you know of anyone who might be interested in applying or anyone the committee may want to speak with who may can refer a candidate(s), please get in touch with Joe Nash, our PNC chairman; so we can follow up with these opportunities.
Our committee appreciates the congregation’s thoughts and prayers during this important time in our church, and we look forward to providing updates as we move through this journey together.
